1996年の1stアルバム「Closer To Doom」から現在に至るまで、一貫してヴィンテージロックスタイルにこだわるBIGELF。 70年代型ハードロックをベースとしながら、プログレッシヴロックやビートルズタイプの王道ポップスとしても十分な訴求力を持つ事から、幅広いジャンルのリスナーに注目されてきました。 使用楽器も本物のヴィンテージモデルであるばかりでなく、彼らのヴィジュアルまでもがヴィンテージスタイルを追求していて、今が21世紀である事を忘れてしまいそうです。 この10年でスタジオアルバム3枚、ライヴアルバム1枚、シングル2枚の他、様々なコンピレーションアルバムに参加し、精力的に活動しています。 リハーサルや新曲のデモ製作も進んでいるようで、ニューアルバムの発表が待たれるところです。 また、彼らの本領はライヴパフォーマンスで最も発揮されるというのが、体験者の証言です。 1日も早く、彼らのライヴを日本で観てみたいものです。2007年4月、元4NON BLONDSのLinda Perry率いるCustard Recordsと正式契約しました。 James BluntやBen Jelenも所属する気鋭のレーベルから、アルバムが発表されるのは間近なようです。 現在のメンバーは以下の4人。 Damon Fox: vocals, organ, mellotron, synthesizers, piano, guitar/Ace Mark: lead & rhythm guitars, slide guitar/Duffy Snowhill: bass/Froth: drums & gong.
